Francisco Partners to Acquire STARLIMS

SAN FRANCISCO -- Francisco Partners, a leading global investment firm that specializes in partnering with technology businesses, today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the STARLIMS informatics product suite and related business assets from Abbott (NYSE: ABT). Abbott is a global healthcare company with leading businesses and products in diagnostics, medical devices, nutritionals and branded generic medicines. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
A world-class Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) solution, STARLIMS is a product suite that improves both quality and safety for organizations throughout the entire product lifecycle, beginning with R&D.
