SAN FRANCISCO – Francisco Partners, a leading global investment firm that specializes in partnering with technology businesses, today announced that it has become a signatory to the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI).
Joining this global organization enhances Francisco Partners’ commitment to integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles into the investment lifecycle. The firm has long believed in responsible investment. As part of joining this global initiative, Francisco Partners agrees to embed the six PRI principles into investment decision-making, oversight of portfolio companies and broader engagement in the market.
"We are excited to join the UN’s Principles for Responsible Investment. We believe as investors in technology and technology-enabled companies, we have an opportunity to improve the world by creating a transformational impact on the economy and positive outcomes for society. Through our deep sector expertise we are able to consider material environmental, social and governance risks and opportunities, which is critical to our investment process and an important foundation to delivering strong risk adjusted returns to our investors” said Dipanjan “DJ” Deb, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Francisco Partners.
Most recently, Francisco Partners hired its inaugural Head of ESG, Tulsi Byrne, who brings over eight years of sustainability investment experience to the firm.
“Just like the technology industry, ESG is an evolving landscape that is quickly changing around us. In my role, I look forward to progressing Francisco Partners’ commitment to ESG, collaborating with industry partners and initiatives like PRI, and continuing to position Francisco Partners as a ESG leader in private markets,” Byrne said.
The PRI is the world’s leading proponent of responsible investment. Supported by the United Nations, and financed by the investment community, it works to promote responsible investment, good governance, integrity and accountability. Launched in 2006, the PRI has grown to over 5,000 signatories representing funds managing $121 trillion in assets.
